TRANSFER

The art of copying involves a special skill when the artist, reproducing the anatomical features of the human body, draws lessons from nature itself, integrating the learned experience into academic standards. But my path is different: I learned from the narratives of popular culture, inspired by what surrounds me. Over time, my skill grew, the artistic language was enriched with multimedia elements, changing the nature and tone of the messages, but the form of appropriation of fragments of mass culture remained unchanged.
Sometimes we get overwhelmed by nostalgia. We look back on our lives and realize where the points that cause strong emotions are. This emotion becomes one of the most powerful experiences in our lives. Nostalgia is not just a return to the past, but its revision by a consciousness capable of changing reality. If nostalgia is not only about the past, then it depends not only on what was, but also on what is at the moment. What, for example, causes nostalgia? For me, this is, for example, copying.
In the “Transfer” project I copy myself, retracing that long-term path that is captured on the pages of numerous art books. Leaving only subtle imprints on purple transfer paper coated with a layer of glossy varnish.
The project was implemented within the framework of the MOST exhibition at the ART & BRUT gallery
